Over falend en succesvol parkeerbeleid

De overheid kan de welvaart verhogen door het parkeerbeleid te verbeteren. Het huidige belastingsysteem stimuleert dat bedrijven gratis parkeerruimte aanbieden aan hun werknemers en dat leidt tot inefficiënt ruimtegebruik, is slecht voor het milieu en bevordert files. Het verminderen van het aantal parkeervergunningen en het duurder maken van parkeervergunningen in gebieden met wachtlijsten zijn manieren om de welvaart te bevorderen. Toch is het Nederlands parkeerbeleid ook succesvol: het zoeken naar parkeerplaatsen gebeurt in het algemeen weinig, behalve in woonwijken van grote steden.
